The Developer

The North Sound Yacht Club is the creation of Victor BVI Chairman, David V. Johnson.  An avid yachtsman, David desired to create a luxury multi-generational family community in the Caribbean to complement his award-winning USA community, Bay Harbor.  After a 15-year search, he selected Virgin Gorda as the home of Oil Nut Bay and North Sound Yacht Club (NSYC).   Once named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young, David V Johnson was recently featured in Worth Magazine.

As the owner of a 40 meter Westport yacht, David discovered that the British Virgin Islands -- specifically the North Sound -- was an ideal place to locate NSYC.  As part of the overall community Master plan, this location offers infinite amenities, beautiful vistas and dramatic topography as well as the sheltering waters of the North Sound, BVI.  Both the NSYC and Oil Nut Bay communities emerge from the same environmentally-sound development philosophy of Johnson's previous communities.

Oil Nut Bay and NSYC are already receiving international recognition.  NSYC was recently awarded Best Marina Development International by the CNBC International Property Awards (2009).

Designed to Be the Best and Environmentally Conscious

Johnson has brought together a team of world-class professionals to create NSYC with the goal to make it the top eco-friendly marina in the Caribbean.  Applied Technology and Management (ATM), the premier provider of specialized full-service marina consultancy since 1984, is on board to deliver consulting and planning.  Bellingham Marine, which can claim the title of "the world's most comprehensive marine builder", provide design and construction services.  Bellingham Marine has corporate offices on five continents to service its clients.  The company has installed over 16 million square feet of dock.  In addition, OBM International, a global leader in architectural design and consulting is providing architectural design services.  With offices in seven countries, OBMI has brought to the table a wealth of knowledge and Caribbean design experience.
